NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WKBN) – A 17-year-old escaped serious injury when the truck he was riding in ended up on its roof in a freeway median.
The one-vehicle accident happened Sunday afternoon in the eastbound lanes of I-76 in Jackson Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the right rear tire blew and the truck veered left into the median.
The teen suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center. 40-year-old William Barker of Garrettsville was behind the wheel. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The accident happened near the Bailey Road exit at about 1 p.m. One lane of the roadway had to be closed for a time to remove the truck. The patrol continues investigating.
