ROAMING SHORES, Ohio (WKBN) – The family of a missing Warren woman will have to wait at least a week and a half for test results. The human remains found in a backyard fire pit in Ashtabula County are being DNA tested in Cleveland.

Ashtabula County Sheriff William Johnson acknowledged last week that there was a connection between 40-year-old James Brooks and Alesha Bell, the 18-year-old missing since late July. Brooks is charged with abuse of a corpse and other charges after investigators searched his Roaming Shores, Ohio property along Route 6. Johnson would not elaborate on the connection between the two.

Deputies initially came to the Brooks house on a drug raid. He faces a trafficking charge too.
