Major paving project begins in Girard

Route 422 in Girard is full of potholes

GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A major paving project in Girard begins Tuesday.

Route 422 from the Interstate 80 interchange to the west end of the city will be resurfaced.

The road will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the length of the project which is expected to be complete by the end of October.

The $1.3 million dollar project was originally set to be resurfaced some time between 2016 and 2017, but ODOT fast-tracked the project because of an abundance of pot holes created this winter on the road.
