man charged with inappropriate touching in youngstown, ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A former worker at a local assisted care facility is in jail Tuesday, accused of sexually assaulting one of the center’s elderly residents.

Richard Johnson was in court Tuesday morning, where he pleaded not guilty to a charge of gross sexual imposition.

Prosecutors said Johnson worked as a maintenance man at a facility on Youngstown’s west side when he inappropriately touched an 80-year-old woman on two occasions last September.

Family members told WKBN that the woman who authorities believe is the victim suffers from dementia.

We’re also told the indictment follows investigations by both the Ohio Department of Health and the Attorney General’s offices.

Johnson’s bond was set at $15,000. His trial is scheduled for October.
