COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Beer and wine will be sold at football games in Ohio Stadium this year, but only in the high-roller seating areas.
OSU athletic director Gene Smith says there will be alcohol sales in the stadium’s 81 suites and 2,700 club seats. The Columbus Dispatch reports that those areas include 4,370 seats – about 4 percent of the stadium’s capacity.
Smith said the university would assess it throughout the 2015 football season, which includes seven home football games starting with the Sept. 12 contest against Hawaii.
Ohio State this summer allowed alcohol sales at three concert events in Ohio Stadium, including the Rolling Stones, as well as during a Cleveland Browns scrimmage two weeks ago.
