NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – He’s the big name coach spending time with everyday folks. But why not, he’s from here!
Youngstown State head football coach Bo Pelini did a meet-and-greet with fans at the Firebirds Restaurant at the Eastwood Mall on Wednesday night. Fans lined up to get an autograph from the coach. He was a little late because he was coming from practice.
The coach says he is grateful for the local support he has received and hopes he won’t let the community down. “I feel the excitement around here and hopefully I myself and the staff and team can do our part to make sure we put out a product on the field that people will be excited about”.
Pelini says he will start mapping out their strategy against Pitt later this week. Pitt is coached by former Youngstown native Pat Narduzzi. Ironically, he is the son of former YSU coach Bill Narduzzi.
