‘Hangry,’ ‘awesomesauce’ among new Oxford words

New words have been added to the Webster dictionaries.

INDIANAPOLIS (WKBN) — Oxford Dictionaries has added another round of new words.

It’s a branch of Oxford that focuses on modern language, separate from the Oxford English Dictionary.

Some of the new words include:

  • Awesomesauce — an adjective meaning extremely good or excellent.
  • Hangry — bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger.
  • Butt dial — inadvertently making a call on a mobile phone in one’s rear trouser pocket
  • Beer o’clock — an appropriate time of day for starting to drink beer.
