KENT, Ohio (WKBN) – A Kent State University professor is off the job Thursday after police say he was caught in an SUV with a teenager he met online.
A WKBN affiliate in Cleveland reports that police arrested 44-year-old Willie Harrell Junior in the parking lot of an elementary school. Officers found Harrell in an SUV about 11 pm with a 15 year old boy.
So far, police have charged Harrell with a violation of adult curfew.
Kent State University released the following statement:
“University leaders are aware of the arrest, and Professor Harrell has been suspended pending the investigation. He will have no contact with our students, and his courses will be taught by other faculty members.”
Harrell was teaching English at Kent.
