Trumbull Co. OVI Task Force to hold checkpoint in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Trumbull County OVI  Task Force announced that it will be having a sobriety checkpoint Thursday night in Brookfield.

According to an email from Warren Police Officer Ben Harrell, the checkpoint will take place on Warren Sharon Rd. from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Checkpoints are designed to educate the public, according to Harrell.

Officers will be checking for the presence of alcohol and drug intoxication during the checkpoint. Thursday’s event will be the third sobriety checkpoint in the county in August, in addition to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which lasts until September 7.
