Accident backs up traffic on busy Route 46 in Weathersfield Twp.

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – A two-vehicle crash stalled traffic on Route 46 in Weathersfield Township Friday afternoon.

A car hit the back of van near the entrance of the Vista at the Ridge entrance. The accident happened about 1:50 p.m.

The collision caused a small fire to break out under the hood of the car.

The driver of the car was out and walking around but was taken to a local hospital to get checked out.

The driver of the van was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Route 46 was reduced to one lane for about an hour as crews worked to clear the accident.
