Hubbard rallies past Norwayne

HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Hubbard needed a late rally to pull of the week one victory over visiting Norwayne on Friday night.

With Norwayne leading 13-7 at the half the Eagles faced their first deficit at home since their new turf was installed.

But the Eagles fought back, reclaiming the lead.

With 1:01 remaining in the game and holding on to a slim 22-19 lead, Hubbard’s David Hernandez intercepted a Norwayne pass inside the Hubbard ten yard line to seal the game.

Hubbard star back George Hill carried the ball 13 times for 128 yards and a score. The Eagles rushed the ball 41 times for 216 yards.

Hubbard will travel to Girard in week two.
