Jackson-Milton’s defense shuts out the Wildcats

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WKBN) – Jackson-Milton’s Joey Burnside scored twice as the Blue Jays posted a 28-0 shutout of visiting Southington. Burnside ran the ball 19 times for 193 yards (1 receiving TD/1 rushing TD). Zac Lane completed 6 of 9 tosses for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. Noah Laster caught 3 passes for 53 stripes and a score.

The Wildcats gained 110 total yards of offense (44 rushing, 66 passing) in coach Bill Bohren’s debut while the Jays picked up 295 yards (200 rushing, 95 passing).

Jackson-Milton begins their two-week road trip when they visit Newton Falls (next Friday) and Windham, the following week.

Southington will visit Sebring in week two and then Mathews in the week three. The Wildcats won’t play their first home game until mid-September (versus Windham on the 18th).
