Man scuffles with Weathersfield police, gets tased

WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – A Niles man is in the Trumbull County Jail after police say he fought with a Weathersfield Police officer. During the scuffle, the officer tased the suspect.

Police say they saw Christopher Lipscomb, 33, acting suspiciously outside of one of the businesses in the Pine Tree Plaza during a routine patrol Sunday night.

When the officer tried to get Lipscomb’s information, he refused and began fighting the officer. That’s when the officer shocked him with a taser.

Lipscomb was taken into custody, and police found crack cocaine in his possession. He was charged with assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, possession of crack cocaine and resisting arrest.
