Two dead, one wounded in Twinsburg shooting

TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) – Two people have been killed and one person wounded in a police-involved shooting in Summit County that forced a nearby college to go into lockdown.

Police say they responded Tuesday evening to an active domestic situation in a residential neighborhood in Twinsburg, Ohio.

Police say when officers arrived they “engaged an armed suspect.” The alleged shooter was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other people were taken to area hospitals where one was pronounced dead. The condition of the second victim wasn’t immediately available. No police officers were injured.

The shooting prompted a lockdown at nearby Kent State Regional Academic Center. The school later reopened, but canceled all evening classes.

Police continue to investigate.
