Dual threat Sherry leads East Palestine

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) – East Palestine was shut out last week by McDonald (21-0). Tonight, the Bulldogs returned the favor to Wellsville as they notched their first victory of the year – 31-0.

Bulldogs’ quarterback Parker Steele Sherry completed 7 of 11 for 107 yards and tossed 2 scores while rushing for 75 stripes. Josh Pickett compiled 2 first-half scores and accumulated 105 yards rushing (12 carries). Jarrod Figley hauled in 4 passes for 69 yards.

East Palestine topped 300 yards of offense (202 rushing, 107 passing) while registering 14 first downs and 7 on third downs.

Wellsville’s Justin Miller connected on 8 of 20 passes for 110 yards. The Tigers were 4 of 13 on third downs as they were able to manage 180 yards of total offense (3 turnovers).
