Hunt leads Conneaut past Champion

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A storm wouldn’t stop Conneaut’s offense from rolling to a 34-9 victory over Champion.

Conneaut’s Tyson Hunt combined to score 4 TDs (1 rushing, 3 passing) while tossing 12 of 18 for 246 yards. Alex Gerdes caught 8 passes for 213 yards (2 TDs).

Champion was led by Eric Fenstermaker, who compiled 59 rushing yards on 15 attempts. Brandon Allen completed 3 of 11 for 13 yards and 18 rushing yards.

The Spartans outgained the Golden Flashes 316-105 (12 1st Downs compared to just 6). Champion turned the ball over 5 times.

Last year, Conneaut snapped Champion’s eight-game win streak versus the Spartans (43-6).

Next week, the Golden Flashes will play their first road game of the 2015 season when they play at Garrettsville Garfield. The Spartans return to Conneaut Stadium to take on Geneva.
