Indian Creek blanks East Liverpool

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – Indian Creek picked up where they left off last week as the Redskins improve to 2-0 after tonight’s 26-0 win over East Liverpool.

Indian Creek may have only moved the chains once on third down (1-10) and had 185 total yards of offense but they forced 3 turnovers on defense and held the Potters to just 182 yards. Jabari Taylor (who last year threw for 431 yards and ran for 528 yards) led the team in rushing yards with 82 (and a TD). Greg Wade caught 2 passes (both for TDs) from Chris Mazar.

East Liverpool’s leading rusher was Austyn Dozier – who gained 17 yards on 12 totes. Zach Gill caught 2 passes for 26 yards.

Since the series ended for a decade (2002-11), Indian Creek had won each of their past three meetings by a combined score of 63-24.

After playing on the road for the past two weeks (three weeks – if you count their final scrimmage at Carrollton), the Redskins (2-0) will play their first game next week against Oak Glen at Kettlewell Stadium. The Potters (1-1) will be matched against Salem in week three.
