Tomko and Sharon run past Struthers

Sharon was forced to forfeit Friday's game against Struthers after using an ineligible player.

SHARON, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – With high expectations in Region 3 this year, the Sharon Tigers took down out-of-state opponent Struthers, 34-27, on Friday night.

Trailing the Wildcats by a score in the first quarter, Sharon quarterback Andrew Tomko tossed an 80 yard strike for the score, tying the game at 7.

Later in the half, it was Tomko again, this time using his legs to score from 12 yards out to put the Tigers ahead 14-7.

The Tigers didn’t look back from their, winning the cross state matchup 34-27.

Tomko finished unofficially with 176 yards passing and 161 yards rushing. Da’mon Rudolph scored a 44-yard TD for Sharon, he closed out the contest with 86 yards rushing.

Regal Reese (174) and A.J. Musolino (102) both topped 100 yards rushing for Struthers.
