YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Welcoming a reigning state champion to Stambaugh Stadium on Frinday night, the Ursuline Irish could not keep up with the Division IV title holding Benedictine Bengals, losing 24-14.

With the score tied at 7 in the second quarter, Benedictine’s Dontez Rash blasted through the Ursuline defense and took the ball 53 yards for the score.
Trailing 21-7 coming out of the locker room to begin the second half, the Irish got the ball and marched down the field with strong running between the tackles to get within a touchdown, 21-14, with 6:37 remaining.
Despite the deficit, Ursuline’s Jared Fabry put constant pressure on the Bengals’ backfield, proving to be one of the most talented defensive linemen in the area.
The Bengals added a field goal to put the Irish away 24-14.
