Bishop honored in Youngstown

A tower was held in Youngstown, Ohio for Bishop Wagner.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –  Bishop Norman Wagner has created a legacy in the Valley ,and Sunday one local group recognized his efforts.

A worship celebration was held at 10 a.m. at Calvary Ministries, 1812 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. The congregation then walked from Calvary Ministries to the new Norman L. Wagner Towers, formally Calvary Towers to dedicate and celebrate the renaming of the 70 unit Senior Citizens Complex.

Bishop Wagner served as the presiding prelate of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. and its 1.5 million members worldwide. He was also a presidential advisor for four administrations.

Bishop Wagner traveled around the world and was personally invited to the Vatican for an audience with Pope John Paul II. He presided as Bishop over the European Council of Nations and the great State of Texas.

His ambitious establishment of Calvary Christian Academy received acknowledgement from the White House.  The school yielded extraordinary students such as our former Youngstown mayor Jay Williams.
