…Hickory has won the last four meetings by a combined score of 165-21…The previous six match ups were won by Sharon between 2006 and 2010.

Last Meeting
…The Hornets’ Lou Derloni (129) and Chuck Carr (68) gained a combined 197 rushing yards as Hickory was victorious 35-0 last year over the Tigers.

Game Notes
Hickory opened the season with an impressive 35-0 victory over Strong Vincent. The Hornet quarterback Luke Brennan connected on 8 of 11 passing for 59 yards and 4 TDs. Junior Chuck Carr led Hickory in rushing with 90 yards on 20 carries (TD). Penn State recruit Andrew Pryts snagged two scoring passes as he completed his night with 3 catches for 40 yards. Pryts also carried the ball once for eight stripes and he had an interception.

Hornet coach Bill Brest has won at least 9 games in each of his first five seasons at the helm of Hickory football.

Sharon’s senior signal caller Andrew Tomko scored a total of 4 TDs (2 passing, 2 rushing) as he accumulated 180 yards passing and another 183 rushing. Da’mon Rudolph averaged 11 yards per carry (8 carries, 88 yards) and also had 11 tackles on the defensive side of the ball (1 sack).

Over the last two years (2013-14), Sharon has recorded a 9-5 record in the Region and a 12-10 mark overall.

Last year, Hickory (5-2) and Sharon (4-3) finished third and fourth in Region 3 respectively behind Slippery Rock (7-0) and Greenville (6-1).
