SHENANGO TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – A mother and daughter were killed in an early morning house fire in Lawrence County Tuesday.
Aidan Kelly was 9-years-old and her mom, Kalle Convery, was 33-years-old. Two other family members, father and son, were able to make it out of the house.
State police said the dad smashed out a window and out Quentin, his 6-year-old son. He was unable to get to his daughter and Kalle.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed.
“Had to make the call. No one was going in until we knocked it down. Couldn’t go in. There was some people not happy about it, but we just couldn’t get in,” Shenango Township Fire Chief Dave Rishel said.
“There was just smoke pouring out of the house. Firemen were running around everywhere. There were several ambulances in the yards and on the road,” said neighbor Jacob McCrumb.
The father and son were taken to the hospital.
Pennsylvania State Police said the father has been released from the hospital and is with his son at a Pittsburgh Hospital.
WKBN has been told that Quentin is doing okay.
