YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is in the Valley Tuesday, talking about ways to improve water quality, months after Mill Creek officials closed the park’s three lakes upon finding high levels of E. Coli bacteria in the water.

Brown said Youngstown is struggling to afford costly but necessary renovations to outdated sewer systems that collect both sewage and storm water.

Brown joined Mill Creek MetroParks Director Aaron Young and State Senator Joe Schiavoni for a meeting at Fellows Riverside Gardens.
