Boccieri tops list of replacements for Gerberry’s House seat

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Democratic Party made its selections Wednesday night on who should replace Ron Gerberry, who resigned from the 59th District Ohio House seat last month.

Number one on the list is John Boccieri, who once served in the Ohio house.

The second choice is former Boardman Township Trustee Robyn Gallitto, and third is Boardman School Board member John Landers.

The Ohio House Democratic caucus will make the final selection.

On Aug. 21, the Austintown Democrat agreed to be found guilty for improper compensation of a public official and officially resigned his seat as an Ohio representative.

Judge Maureen Sweeney sentenced Gerberry to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine, all suspended, and three years probation.
