STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – A 43-year-old man hanged and killed himself Thursday morning while being held at the Struthers Police Department, according to Struthers Police.
Police said that the man had been charged with disorderly conduct earlier Thursday, but did not release his name.
Struthers Police have turned the investigation of the incident over to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
According to Struthers Police, an officer stopped two men who were walking along Youngstown-Poland Rd. around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, when they took off running. The officer caught and arrested the men, charging them with disorderly conduct.
One of the men, who is 53 years old according to police, posted bond and left. When officers went to bring the 43-year-old breakfast Thursday morning, they found him dead, hanging in the holding cell.
