Group marches in solidarity to fight heroin

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – More than 100 people marched from Community Corrections Association to the Federal Courthouse in downtown to show solidarity in the fight against heroin.

Multiple law enforcement departments teamed up with organizer Nicole Walmsley. Walmsley says she knows how difficult the fight against heroin can be but is happy to see so much support.

“I’m speechless. It is amazing after reading most of the comments about the people wanting us to die and then seeing them show up like this. It is pretty amazing,” Walmsley said.

The number heroin deaths across the United States has spiked in recent years.
