OVI, saturation patrols planned in Mahoning County

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two OVI checkpoints will be conducted Saturday night in Mahoning County.

According to the Mahoning County OVI Task Force, the first checkpoint will be located at 1051 S. Raccoon Road in Austintown from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday.

A second checkpoint will run from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday on Mahoning Avenue at Howard Street, also in Austintown.

In addition, police officers from participating agencies of the Mahoning County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be conducting saturation patrols in various parts of Mahoning County throughout the weekend.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
