Color vs. Cancer draws 250 for 5-K event

Color -Run

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The rainy Sunday morning across the Valley didn’t stop some runners and walkers in Austintown.

About 250 people came out for the second annual Color versus Cancer event. Runners and Walkers went through the rain and the colored chalk for a 5-K through Austintown Township Park.

The run was organized by the new Yellow Brick Place center in Youngstown. The co-founder hopes it will raise awareness for the center’s mission to help with the general wellness of cancer patients.

“So we are for non-medical support for people going for cancer diagnosis. And we thought that Color Vs. Cancer was just perfect because, you know, you need cheering up and color is wonderful and we just thought it would be a great mix,” said Anna Aey, Yellow Brick Place co-founder.
