OSP: $1.1 million in marijuana taken from car on the Ohio Turnpike

MAUMEE, Ohio (WKBN) – A large marijuana haul by the Ohio State Highway Patrol along the Ohio Turnpike in the western part of the state.

Troopers seized 226 pounds of marijuana in a traffic stop near Toledo on Friday. The weed is worth over $1.1 million.

The patrol says Jianming Liu, 49, of Renton, Wash. and Muhua Hu, 43, of Seattle, Wash., were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana. If convicted, the man and woman could each face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.

Troopers stopped the 2014 Coachmen Motorhome for marked lanes and registration violations near milepost 53 of the turnpike. A Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle and a probable cause search revealed the contraband.
