Fire damages house in Warren

A house was damaged in Warren, Ohio after a fire broke out at the home on Stewart Street.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A fire damaged a house in Warren late Thursday night, forcing the family that lives there to find another place to stay.

Crews were called about 11 p.m. to the house in the 2000 block of Stewart Street. When firefighters arrived, everyone was already out of the house.

The roof at the back of the house collapsed and firefighters were ordered out.

“With the roof collapse, we couldn’t get inside and fight it the way we’d like to fight it. We don’t want to get our personnel hurt, so we stayed outside until we got it under control,” said Warren Fire Chief Neil Heller.

It took firefighters about two hours to get the flames under control.

No injuries were reported and a damage estimate was not available. The cause is under investigation.
