Minenok leads New Castle to first win

CHIPPEWA, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – New Castle garnered their first win of the year as they gained 356 yards of total offense (187 rushing, 169 passing) in their 52-33 victory over the home standing Blackhawk Cougars.

Pat Minenok, the Hurricanes’ quarterback, completed 12 of 19 passes for 169 yards. Freddy Soto led the team in rushing with 68 yards.

Blackhawk actually outgained New Castle by compiling 373 yards of total offense. Mike Savilisky stampeded his way to 132 rushing yards on 13 attempts. Savilisky also completed 7 of 14 for 50 stripes through the air.

New Castle (1-2) will host Peters Township in week four.

Blackhawk will travel to Chartiers Valley next week. The Cougars (0-3) have allowed 137 points to be scored against them in their first three weeks.
