Grande lifts Hubbard over Girard

Hubbard's Mariassa Grande netted three goals to help Hubbard top Girard Monday night

GIRARD, OH (WKBN)-The Hubbard girls soccer team used a solid effort from Marissa Grande to lead the way over Girard 3-1 Monday night.

The Eagles scored twice in the first half, both goals from Grande, giving Hubbard a comfortable lead going into the half.

But in the 2nd half Girard created multiple scoring opportunities to try to get back into the game.

About midway through the half, Girard’s Emily Marsico one-touched a pass from a teammate into the back of the net to cut the deficit to 2-1.

But later in the half Grande netted her hat trick to put the game away.

Hubbard improves to 5-3-1 overall and will host Niles on Wednesday.
