A fight broke out at the funeral of a murder victim in Columbus, Ohio.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – One week after two suspects in a central Ohio murder were arrested in Youngstown, Police in Columbus had to respond to the funeral for the victim.

Officers say there was a large brawl outside the church where the funeral for Dametrious Edwards, 28, was being held. Edwards was found dead in the basement of a home near Columbus. Two suspects in the case were arrested in Youngstown. One is charged with murder.

More than 100 officers responded to the funeral after arguments started outside and the service was put on hold while the church was evacuated.

There were no injuries reported and multiple people were taken into custody.

Police said the funeral did eventually proceed with close friends and family.

According to Columbus police, 37-year-old Danyell Florida is accused of murdering Edwards at a home on Champion Avenue in Columbus.

U.S. Marshals arrested Florida and Kalene Bartlett, 22, last week and both were held in the Mahoning County Jail before appearing at an extradition hearing.

Bartlett is charged with abuse of a corpse.
