Mooney players celebrate after a goal that tied their game against Ursuline Tuesday night

STRUTHERS, OH (WKBN)-Ursuline goalkeeper Bryce Blazek kept Mooney at bay for most of the first half but in the end the offense of the Cardinals was too much as they topped Ursuline 3-1 Tuesday night.

Blazek made multiple incredible saves to keep Mooney scoreless through most of the first half, he ended the evening with 16 saves.

The scoring was opened early in the match as Ursuline’s Gianni Quattro was just inside the box and hit a rocket in the left corner of the net to give Ursuline the 1-0 lead.

Near the end of the first half, Keyton Graff took a free kick from distance and watch it bounce off several bodies before reaching the back of the net. Senior Nicholas Koken got the final touch and was credited with the goal.

Ahmed El Khafif and Mike Myers notched the 2nd half goals for Mooney to give the Cardinals the win.

Mooney improves to 4-5-1 this year as Ursuline falls to 2-5-1.
