WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – They filled the pews at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren on Tuesday night for a community forum. The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative sponsored the event to get politicians and the community together to talk about the problems in the city.
Political leaders heard from citizens on the problems they are facing in their neighborhoods. Among the hot topics bringing more jobs to the city and addressing the crime problem.
“Hopefully by getting elected officials and regular people together in the same room on the same page we can start making changes around Warren and take our city back,” said resident Tamisha Parker.
Several people also brought up the need to find something for the kids to do to keep them from turning to crime. Mayor Doug Franklin says he is looking to possibly opening a recreation center.
Among the other topics: bringing more jobs to the city and addressing the crime problem.
