(MEDIA GENERAL) – Pope Francis became the head of the Catholic Church in 2013, following the resignation of Pope Benedict a few weeks prior.

Below is how the man once named Jorge Mario Bergoglio became a priest and rose through the ranks of the Catholic Church.
