Ursuline holds off Harding rally in second half

Irish knock Harding from list of unbeaten teams

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Following a strong victory over Lake Catholic last week, the Ursuline Irish were still on the outside looking in Ohio’s Division IV, Region 11.  A 33-22 victory over Warren Harding Friday night will go a long way towards moving Ursuline towards a date in week 11.

Irish running back Kimauni Johnson put Ursuline ahead with a 5 yard touchdown run to give his squad a 7-0 lead.

He found the end zone again, this time from 9 yards out, to extend the Irish lead to 14-0.

After another Ursuline score, the Irish took to the air, Jared Fabry connected with Dakota Hobbs for a 60 yard pitch-and-catch to make it Ursuline 27, Harding 0.

The Raiders would get on the board with Keemari Murry scoring from 16 yards out to close the gap to 27-6.

Lynn Bowden then ran it in from 20 yards out to cut the lead again, this time to 27-14.

With 9:19 left in the game, Bowden found the end zone again from 2 yards out to close the gap to just 27-22.

But Ursuline would answer the bell and land deliver a closing blow, when Jared Fabry scored from 36 yards out to put the game out of reach, 33-22.

Ursuline will visit Steubenville in week six.  Warren Harding will host Lakeside.
