Wellsville man accused of burning house down, hitting girlfriend

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – A Wellsville man is accused of burning his house to the ground early Wednesday.

According to the Morning Journal, Ronald L. Knight, 42, state Route 45, is charged with domestic violence and having weapons while under a disability. He is accused of striking his live-in girlfriend Tina Paquette both in the face and back of the head. Court documents stated she had visible bruising.

Knight, who was also reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time, also allegedly fired a 22-caliber rifle into the air, yelled that he had four more rounds to go and proceeded to light his house on fire.

Knight was arraigned Thursday in Columbiana Municpal Court where bond was set at $25,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 1.
