Hubbard finally found the end zone for the first time with 1:51 left in the third.  George Hill scored from 2 yards out to cap a 10 play 60 yard scoring drive, Hill’s 6th rushing touchdown of the year to cut the lead to 20-7.

On the following possession, Hubbard tackled the Howland punter on fourth down to set up a first and goal at the 5 yard line.  The tough Howland defense forced a fourth down and 2, and Hubbard elected to go for it.  That decision turned out to be the right one with Brandon Rios diving in for a score.  After a blocked extra point, Howland still led 20-13.

Things continued to look up for Hubbard when a 34 yard field goal attempt on the following Howland drive was no good.  But the excitement was short lived.  Hubbard’s first play on the following drive was intercepted by Williams and returned for a touchdown to extend the Howland lead back to two scores, 27-13.

A 2 yard rushing touchdown by Tyriq Ellis sealed the game for Howland, extending the lead to 34-20 with just over under two minutes remaining.
