YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – WKBN was listening when a viewer told us their concerns about the lighting on the Center Street Bridge.
Here’s what we found overnight: No lights working at all, with the only light on the road coming from headlights on the cars.
First News checked with the city of Youngstown to find out what’s behind the problem. It turns out a contractor for Dominion East Ohio hit an underground electric feed while doing work on Shirley Road, so the city is calling the company to get it fixed.
“We’ll be putting the contractor on notice after we investigate it to make sure they understand that we’ll be charging them for the repair,” Chuck Shasho said.
The city expects to have the work done in about a week.
We’ll check to make sure it’s done, and update you here on WKBN.com.
