2 injured in Route 11 crash in Cortland

Two people were injured in an accident on Route 11 in Trumbull County.

CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – One lane of traffic is closed on Route 11 in Cortland following an accident Monday.

Crews are working to clear an accident involving two vehicles in the northbound lane of the interstate, between Route 5 and Route 305. Minimal traffic backups are reported. Traffic was moving again in the area as of 11 a.m. Monday.

The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near the Everett Hull Road overpass.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol officers, one vehicle was traveling on the highway at about 45 miles per hour when another vehicle traveling at about 65 or 70 miles per hour tried to avoid the slower vehicle and collided with it.

Paramedics took two people by ambulance to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
