YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A successor for longtime Valley state lawmaker Ron Gerberry will soon be chosen.

Members of the House Democratic Caucus are expected to meet Tuesday or Wednesday to choose someone to fill the remainder of Gerberry’s unexpired term in the Ohio General Assembly.

Last month, Gerberry resigned from his seat after pleading guilty to a records-tampering charge in connection with his campaign finance statements. Earlier this month, local precinct committee members recommended three candidates for the position, and the Caucus will make the final decision.
