YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – There were some big wins on Friday Night. But perhaps none bigger than Ursuline’s victory over previously undefeated Warren Harding. That big victory featured a Big 22 Contender.
Ursuline controlled the game up front and dominated time of possession… with Senior Tailback Kimauni Johnson running the ball. Johnson had 35 carries in the game… for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns.
“I like to hit people. you’re either gonna get hit or you’re the person delivering the hit,” said Johnson. “I don’t like getting hit. that’s why I got this. Now I gotta show people that I still got it and I can do it with a dislocated shoulder.”
“I think that Kimauni plays with a lot of emotion. Kimauni plays very hard. He doesn’t take plays off. And he’s a true team player,” Irish Head Coach Larry Kempe said.
Other players that caught the attention of Sports Team 27 in Week five:
Brookfield QB Augustus Necastro threw five touchdown passes against Newton Falls on Friday.
Sharpsville senior Khaliq Ragster ran all over Mercer. He racked up 218 yards on 19 carries… and scored three times.
Once again, Mitch Davidson makes our short list. The Columbiana quarterback had 480 total yards and six total touchdowns in the Clippers rout of Mineral Ridge.
