YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State University is making a big expansion to life on campus with a 162-bed apartment building.
A ground breaking for the project was held Monday at the location of the proposed four-story building on Rayen Avenue.
YSU President Jim Tressel hopes the project is the start of more good things on campus.
“Sometimes you need a little proof, and sometimes you need somethings popping up out of the ground to reinforce the fact that we want to be extraordinary,” Tressel said. “We want this to be a model university town.”
The new apartment building is called University Edge and should be open for the fall 2016 semester.
