HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Howland Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 2786 is raising awareness for breast cancer.

The union is selling “extinguish breast cancer” t-shirts for $10, with proceeds benefiting the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center in Youngstown.

Last year, the group was able to surpass $1,700, and this year, firefighters hope to raise more than $2,500.

Union President Randy Stottlemire said this fundraiser has been a success.

“We saw it around the country through the I.A.F.F. (Internal Association of Fire Fighters). They put a lot of publications out about it, and we just wanted to jump on board and help out,” he said. “It’s been pretty successful so far.”

T-shirts are now available at the Howland Fire Department for purchase.
