Champion hangs 75 on Newton Falls

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Champion had scored 67 points through their first five weeks of the 2015 season. Tonight, the Golden Flashes explode for a 75-7 victory over Newton Falls.

Champion scored 8 touchdowns on the ground and amassed 462 yards on 36 totes. The Flashes featured 4 runners who gained over 75 yards (Eric Fenstermaker, 110; Bailey Slyk, 106; Carter Mast, 88; Brandon Allen, 79). Fenstermaker scored touchdowns three different ways (receiving, special teams, rushing). Champion gained 505 total yards of offense and converted on 22 first downs.

The Golden Flashes have won their last four contests with Newton Falls by a score of 185-29. The last time Champion had defeated the Tigers in four straight meetings was 1991 to 1994.

The Tigers were led by the arm of Josh Walters, who completed 7 of 26 for 81 yards.

Champion (3-3) will visit Liberty as Newton Falls (0-6) will play at LaBrae next Friday.
