Howland Tigers defeat Youngstown East football

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Behind their strong rushing attack, the Howland Tigers pulled away from Youngstown East, winning 20-12.

In the first, Jacob Lowe put the Tigers ahead 3-0 with a 37 yard field goal.

Then, a Victor Williams one yard touchdown run pushed Howland’s lead to 10-0.

Another Lowe field goal increased the lead to 13-0.

Youngstown East would answer on a Mike Lawerance two yard touchdown run to shrink Howland’s lead to 13-6.

In the fourth quarter, Williams broke free from the East defense and took it 59 yards for the score to make it 20-6.

Lawerance found the endzone for his second touchdown on the night, cutting into Howland’s lead 20-12.

Howland (4-2) will host Akron Firestone next week.

Youngstown East (2-4) faces a tough matchup next week when they host the undefeated Poland Bulldogs.
