Poland runs away in second half, tops rival

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – In a battle of longtime rivals, the Poland Bulldogs dominated the second half to pull away from Struthers 35-14, staying undefeated on the season.

In the first quarter, Struthers came out ready, getting the ball into the endzone for the early 6-0 lead.

But, the Bulldogs would answer on a five yard touchdown run by Dylan Garver tied things up. Then, later in the quarter, it was Garver again scoring from five yards out to put Poland ahead 14-6.

The Wildcats tied things up on an A.J. Musolino touchdown, his second on the night, tying the game at 14.

That’s when Poland took over.

Dylan Garver punched it in from three yards out to give Poland the 21-14 lead.

Then it was Nick Buccieri from 20 yards out, increasing the Bulldog lead to 28-14.

Buccieri wasn’t done, scoring again from three yards out to push the lead to a comfortable 35-14.

Poland (6-0) will look to stay perfect next week when they travel to take on Youngstown East.

Struthers (2-4) will try to get back in the win column next Friday when they take on Campbell.
