CLEVELAND (AP) – Authorities say a 6-month-old girl was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Cleveland.
Police say the mother of the child was driving with two other males on Thursday night when someone opened fire into the car, shooting the infant in the chest.
Police say the girl was the only one who was hit by the gunfire.
SWAT members surrounded an apartment building in the area where they believed the suspect was located. It’s not clear if anyone was taken into custody.
Police say they don’t have a description of the shooter at this point in their investigation.
This is the third deadly drive-by shooting of a child in one month for Cleveland. Two boys, ages 3 and 5, were killed in September.
