Senior quarterback Matt Weingart connects with Cooper Bezeredi early in the first quarter on a 26-yard strike to give the Quakers a 7-0 lead. Carrollton’s Adam Shaw rushed on a 6-yard score to close Salem’s lead to 7-6. With 4:35 left before the half, Max Righetti kicked a 25-yard field goal through the uprights to extend the Quaker lead to 10-6 at the intermission.

Weingart tossed another touchdown to seal the deal for Salem late in the fourth quarter.

There have been only three area Ohio teams who have began 6-0 who have not advanced to week eleven (2011: Southern, 2008: Girard, 2001: East Liverpool).

Salem will play at home next Friday against Minerva as Carrollton will face Alliance.
